Narrated Abu Bakra (Radi Allah Anhu): The Prophet said thrice, "Should I inform you about the greatest of the great sins?" They said, "Yes, O Allah's Apostle!" He said, "To join others in worship with Allah (shirk) and to be undutiful to one's parents." The Prophet then sat up as before he was reclining (on a pillow) and said, "And I warn you against giving a false witness" and he kept on saying that warning till we thought he would not stop."

"If somebody commits a sin and then says, 'O my Lord! I have sinned, please forgive me!' and his Lord says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sins).' Then he remains without committing any sin for a while and then again commits another sin and says, 'O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,' and Allah says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord who forgives sins and punishes for it, I therefore have forgiven my slave (his sin). Then he remains without Committing any another sin for a while and then commits another sin (for the third time) and says, 'O my Lord, I have committed another sin, please forgive me,' and Allah says, 'My slave has known that he has a Lord Who forgives sins and punishes for it I therefore have forgiven My slave (his sin), he can do whatever he likes."

"If somebody recited the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqara at night, that will be sufficient for him."
- Hadith of Sahi - Bukhari
The Prophet said to his companions, "Is it difficult for any of you to recite one third of the Qur'an in one night?" This suggestion was difficult for them so they said, "Who among us has the power to do so, O Allah's Apostle?" Allah Apostle replied: " Allah (the) One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need.' (Surat Al-Ikhlas 112.1--to the End) is equal to one third of the Qur'an."
