'What is lawful and what is forbidden are both quite clear. But between them are matters which are not clear. A man who avoids the unclear will be even more careful to avoid an open sin. But it is feared that a man who does not baulk at unclear sins will indulge even in open sin. And sin is like a grazing ground forbidden by God. A beat that passes by it risks the chane of straying into it.'
HADIT OF AL-BUKHARI AND MUSLIM
On the Authority of Nu'man ibn Bashir

Typo in last sentence. Correct one:
A beast that passes by it risks the chance of straying into it.
